That depends, did the chicken lay the egg before, during or after the attack?
Looks like a raptor. Could be a hawk or owl. I’d set up a game camera while also turning your coop into Fort Knox. Can you post pictures of your coop and run? Also where in the world are you located? That would help us identify the predators in your area.

I beat you!! Yours was better though!We'll need pictures of your coop and run from each side, the dead chicken from every angle, along with your name, address, phone, credit card and SS numbers. Then we might be able to give you an educated guess. If it laid an egg it was most likely a platypus.
