Shaws Snow day Silliness and Southie Sense of humor Thread

I just can’t believe all our time and energy was just wasted so frivolously on that last thread. And to beat it all, my favorite cake is pictured over there, not once, but twice, and I can’t take it back...like the fat kid took his ball and went home! :barnie

I know, right, what is it with people these days? You can't read a thread in the regular forum without wading through 5 pages of "advice" from 12 year old experts. So you come over here to have a little fun, and then get canceled by someone who is offended by a kid falling off a tree. I know I probably sound like my grandparents complaining about the hippies :old but at least the hippies were interesting and FUN! This new generation is nothing but a bunch of know-it-all humorless crybabies.

Amen! And just what is it with all the kids lately?

They have it too easy,

They needed to grow up poor like we did. Before every house had the luxury of a TV or running water.

Where reading meant opening a book not turning on an electronic device. Where a little treat was a cup of popped corn and potato soup was a stable of life.

Where we longed for eduction and companionship so much we walked 3 miles to school in blinding snowstorms uphill both ways.

A time when sex education was stumbling across your uncles stash of girlie magazines. Where a stash meant 2.

In a time when we had no idea why the bull kept jumping on the cows back, no matter how many times we chased him off her.

and in a time when we knew “Howdy Dowdy” was a friend to Buffalo Bob and not just a greeting.

A time when our Grandparents knew we would ruin the country because we had it too easy. Turns out they were right.

Fooled you guys, didn’t I? You all thought I would blame Obama or Biden didn’t you?

firstly, your grandparents weren’t wrong about those hippies 🙃

secondly, Is the advice from the “12 year old experts” any worse than much of the advice from folks in their 30s to 60s that are offering up similar expertise on things that’s it’s obvious they’ve just googled? 😉

Sadly all very true, except I didn’t walk up hill to and from school, but rather dodging herds of buffalo!

I guess you are right, but it’s just getting to be more and more of the little rug rats.

no I agree completely, I think there is just something about the subject of keeping poultry that makes it very approachable, and these days everyone likes to google and regurgitate.

I actually like the enthusiasm that the kids have, when I run across their posts, but I don’t pay much attention to 99 % of the stuff that folks post on here, so most of it doesn’t hit my radar.

But also it usually takes someone else pointing it out to me before I realize it’s a kid 🥴
