Most of us use the words breed, variety and species interchangeably..
Even though we know it's not correct.
That is a pet peeve of the elk man as well. Lol.

It's not necessarily a 'pet peeve' but having a degree in Marine Biology, I tend to use scientific names or species. If I was talking Chickens then I would use the term breed or breeds! but even then it's Gallus gallus.
