it's supposed to be even worse this weekend. we already have tornados, earthquakes and wildfires, we can share those with the northies i guess. gonna hole up with venision chili and a bottle of Fireball and pray for spring(when the tornados will come, lol)

Around here there are whole herds of them just walking around offering themselves up for harvest. You gotta raise holy hell and run at them just to chase the damn things away, otherwise they just stand there looking at you.

I hunt ruffed grouse, sporadically. It interferes with fishing if I seriously hunt them.

When I do shoot one I never skin it. I just stand on its wings, pull the legs and take the breast as it pops out.

What part of the skin/feathers are you looking for?

Nah it’s no big deal if you don’t hunt em that often. I have all kinds of skins but I do use the whole skin.
I trade people flies for skins of birds I don’t have here from Alaska usually. Ptarmigan, spruce and ruffed grouse etc..
