SHE FINALLY LAID!!!!

We got our first egg from our welsummer today! Was not expecting it at all! After losing most of our hope in her laying... we go out to collect eggs and we had 4 in our nesting box!!! We are hoping that this is not going to be the only egg we get for a while now...

Ah! Congradulations! How long did it take? Mine is 5.5 months old and still no eggs

Congrats! She will probably lay a bit on and off for the first week or 2 while she sorts her egg laying procedures out, but she's laying now. That's the most important.

I dont know if you guys have seen my other posts about her but long story short... We got her back in October thinking she was 2 years old... She was really skinny and looked terrible... We when we brought her home and after 2 weeks and no eggs... We thought maybe she was broody or molting sO we waited and waited losing hope... Then my fiancée suggested maybe shes still a pullet so that's what we were thinking once her pubis bones are fairly close. And then today we got one of our biggest eggs from any of our hens.. So idk well have to see over the next couple day and see if we get anymore... I will say from when we got her to now she looks 10x better and her combs and wattles have gotten bigger and more red so yeah lol we are very happy!
