My seven month old cuckoo Maran layed her first egg today! She has been really interested in the nesting boxes for the past four days and has been squatting a lot. Her sister Pixie ( olive egger) also just started laying this week. I saw her making a nest in one of the bamboo plants today! 
she ended up laying her eggs in my old coop that I use for broody hens. So now I just have to figure out how to get her to lay in the main coop! I’ve always wanted a copper Maran or cuckoo Maran I’m so excited!!!
