I have no idea if you have a hen or a rooster. I do not own silkies and they all look like aliens to me I see you already posted in the gender thread, you might also try the silkie thread.

I've never owned silkies but have read that they are very difficult to sex until they are several months old...maybe not even then unless they crow or lay an egg. The members on the silkie thread might be able to help you.

Is all the colour on the neck new? If so Im going to guess you have a boy. I can see why you are suspecting you have a rooster, just has that look doesn't it.

I was told they were rehoming 7 hen's but I thought this one had a funny look about it, the more I look at this one the more I think your not a hen so thought I would see what others are thinking

That comb is huge, and that dark shade of red on the wings/shoulder area is a tell-tale sign of a male.
