So true. We had hard water so my first batch died anyway. I was so sad. Then I found out the Great Salt Lake near me had about a bajillion of them and I felt like a sucker anyway. You expected this

That is so cool. I never thought I would be so interested in the outcome of an assisted hatch. Little guy looks healthy, tooI know! You don't feel like your out in the water without a life jacket!
I won't! Peafowl are much harder to hatch. But the experience gained is priceless!
Thank you all so much! #2 hatched! And is really feisty! Since the second it popped out of the shell it's trying to run around. It won't get far in the Brinsea MINI! Haha! And they said you couldn't hatch peafowl in the mini!

Well talk about being from the north....I grew up in Alaska...but I do consider myself a redneck to an extent. I hunt,fish,etc...you name it. If it's outdoors I pretty much do it.Kinda, ok 33%. I am about as red neck as a polar bear. Sorry. I was born in MA and consider myself from CT as I spent the most time there when you sort out where I was during my life. I spent some very miserable years in GA between 3rd and 8th grade, my parents still live there. So yea, sorry. I am not, nor will I ever consider myself a Southerner. Irony of ironies though, I intend to have my farm in Northern GA for various reasons... Very chuffed I have made your favorite username list. Any time you have a question for me, feel free to ask, the worse that can happen is I turn you down *shrug*![]()
I made #2!!!!??? Awesome!Any years in GA are miserable yearsIf you move to NE Georgia, you will be very near me Rossfam is our redneck Asian. It's not a term I came up with, she said it herself. I try not to overuse it, but the current conversation gave me an excuse
#2 on my favorites list is rossfam, and if anyone other than you had asked this question I would have explained why
#1? SCflock, of course. Told you I was a narcissist

Yea!!!!!! I am so happy you did. I knew you could. SC will smack me because I help my chicks out whenever I feel they need it. That's why I am team purple. Lol!I just wanted to update. I did my first assist on a peachick this morning. Wrong side/end pipper. Thanks to the wonderful breeders on the peafowl threads, AmyLynn, Walnut, and everyone else, I was able to successfully save him!! I don't even know how he managed to pip in the first place. I think he accidentally pipped while trying to turn. His head and beak were tucked under his legs in the pointy end of the egg. I hatched him right in my hand and his huge eyes looked right at me! (Seriously, peachicks have enormous sized eyes). He's doing good and resting. My second pip looks like it's making progress and the third egg has pipped!! I appreciate SC holding off on smacking me and everyon's confidence in me!! Thank you!!![]()
Hahahahaha!
See above! That is awesome!!! I've been wondering how it would turn out. Just don't try it with a chicken, or you will get
