Did you say you washed your eggs?  Or the incubator?  The general recommendation is to NOT wash eggs that will be incubated.  They do better if you leave them au naturel (with the bloom on them).  I like to have my bator up and running with sealed bottles of water for 24 hours to allow it to stabalize before committing eggs to it.  Even then, when you put the eggs in, you'll see the temp drop.  It's important to just wait out that drop, and it will eventually come back up again.  A lot of people jump on that temp drop and start tweaking, then they end up with a lethal spike.  

Thanks for the temp drop tip! I washed incubator not the eggs. I did add water to the reservoir, that's probably why it was reading so high. Will wait until tomorrow to add the eggs.

My broody is still at it, and the 2 eggs are underneath her. Luckily I put the start date in the app or I would have no idea what day they are on.

Found someone in North Valley that has hatches pending of a few EE and some Speckled Sussex. Would rather have the EE since mixing in SS is the fastest way to ruin a line of Russian Orloff (which is what the hatcheries have done to increase egg production and improve spangling while ruining the gamey-type.) My luck I'd mix up the tan eggs.

Still hope one of the OE hatches, and if both do I'll throw Betty a parade.

I would leave them until they all hatched, dried off, and no remaining pipped eggs. Amy can't figure out why you left them in there this long.

If they aren't extremely soiled I wouldn't. A good share of people advise against washing because it removes the egg's "bloom".

I can't bellieve he doesn't have at least one one those broodies named Brinsea. 

Silkies are too stupid to be called Brinsea. I would call one LG, but their hatch rates are too high. Not one splayed chick all year

How many incubators do you need???

Honest answer? Most people buy them as pets. They are pretty to look at, soft to touch, and good with kids. I have sold several, though, to people wanting them to hatch other eggs

I've never had a splayed. One of my spitz had a crooked toe....but I didn't realize it until they were a few weeks old. Not crooked toes, just a crooked toe. You tout the Brinsea for being reliable, not smart, and those little puff balls sure are reliable hatchers....just saying....

Just think, if half of those are pullets, and they can sit on 10 eggs each, you could be hatching out 200 eggs every 21 days - on top of what you have in your Brinsea!
