Not a Blue laced red, but the favorite from our hatch.


This little guy I am worried about, a little. He's 5 weeks old, but now smaller than the chicks from our hatch. He eats and drinks fine. No mites, but his eyes look a little funny.

I was wondering about leg bands for chicks too. My local feed store sells a big bag of only one color. Not very helpful. I will pick up some of those loom bands or check Amazon. Thanks for the info on laying. I know just how WV felt when she got that first egg last month! I can't wait. And I really like having hatched my own flock. They love me and I know their entire history. I thought about buying started birds but couldn't miss out on the chance to hatch! So happy everyone has healthy chicks and new hatching eggs!
