She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Tried to tell you

When you start doing all that, don't move around too much when I :smack you

This one has bare floor and you wont like it but is covered with hay.  , The big run for this coop has leaves on the floor. The three coops and runs are all adjoining, its beginning to look like a village out there. They are all under big oaks, so have shade all day all summer and dappled sun in the winter.

Mr slap happy is on the rampage. :old

Envy your trees... it's not that I don't like hay, just that even though we're on a hill it's way too wet for hay here... I'd just throw big flake shavings down... hmmm... ideas....

F.Y. doesn't unleash her fury on me until I start talking about my disdain for certain marsupials

It won't be under warranty, it's not transferable. Even with the noise, I would run it as long as it's turning, unless you just enjoy hand turning. The octagon design does make that easy. For $250, you still got a great deal

I wouldnt expect it to be transerable but if i can get him to order it under warranty id pay his shipping expense...

I dont neccesarily enjoy hand turning but i do like how easy it is with the octog. I dont run it yet because i just dont want to burn it up and then Need it :-/

Hand turning doesn't bother me... but I have serious case of CRS... :gig

Have you tried lubing it?
The warranty is only good for 2 years, and only goes into effect if he ordered it online. If he sold it for $250, I kinda doubt he did. I'm not fussing, I'm just letting you know how the warranty works. If you think there's a chance he may order another, then by all means go for it

Think so too... and equally difficult to get rid of... if every breed was perfect life would be boring...

We don't mind...

My OH would disown me over those, lol... your Silkie cross, what was the hen and what was the roo? Some of those are sex-linked... I have a pullet that is Silkie/Cream Legbar, she just started laying green eggs yesterday...
If you're talking about my silkie/nn momma was the silkie and my nn was the daddy. Other than the nn I don't know what the dad has in him.

Good Morning!
I haven't checked lately, but in years gone by you could visit sites like dogsunlimited.com and find small recall pens that would comfortably house a few quail, then copy the basic design to suit yourself. I built mine out of 2x2's & 1/2" hardware cloth for a run about 12" square x 4' long & what amounted to a run-in shed on the end. Real simple.

Thanks

Also, Amy, check on your local Craigslist. I found this on mine yesterday and it would be perfect for breeding 3/4 pairs. Even worth it to disassemble for one or two cages.

Happy? 100 times a day hearing "Where have you been? Do you think she's prettier than me? You're not wearing that, are you?

I finally set eggs again last night. 19 possible OE. From my Marans roo x EE/Leghorn mix. They have pea combs so I'm hoping the chicks have the olive egg (blue) gene. I added a fan to my bator so we will have to see how that goes. Can't wait for my Brinsea Spot Check to get here.

ETA: Since the mama is half leghorn the chicks could get the white egg gene right? All the eggs in the bator are light blue.
Good luck!

Slow down people, I'm having a hard time catching up! lol

It got slow, I was bored. I'll be Mr. Nice Guy again on Tuesday for WV's parade

I use anything that has carbon that isn't an arm and a leg. come fall i will be loading up with leaves. even bringing bagged leaves from the side of the road that someone else raked up. they are free and dry out quickly. I read somewhere that someone made a drainage moat around their run to help run off. It may have been right here.
