3 eggs from the Calls this morn...

Then I dug out 7 more in a hidden stash, the sneaky little blighters!!![]()
Looks like it's just developing to me... is that the air cell up top? If so, I wouldn't call that too big... but if air cells are too large, then humidity is too low... what's the humidity running at?
Air cells are horrible on the ones that are developingI don't think I even noticed air cells on the clears. I will pay more attention to the clears the next time.
YAY for you!

I really prefer candling from the air cell end, it shows things much differently.
Air cell looks just fine!
That's exactly why I was askingIf it's more than 25-35% of the shipped batch, then I might question... but shipping is very rough on eggs... I usually don't have doubts to the fertility of the eggs I buy, but I did have 2 batches back to back from same source that consistently only 25% developed...![]()

Sorry... I was laughing at myself... I have to do that a lot...
About 4:30 I found the motherlode...
You're right, it does look different... I've candled both ways, that's why I recognized it... if I use my phone light, I candle from air cell... if I use my deWalt and box, I candle with egg sitting on top and it lights up the entire egg... will try to get a pic next time I candle that way...![]()
That's exactly why I was askingSome of these are from the same seller as my first batch. I bought again and she included a lot of extras because I didn't have good luck the first time. I was thinking surely these were not all infertile

61% of this last lot were clear. I am thinking fertility, on these eggs.

Have you tried candling from the air cell end down? You can make more sense of what's going on when you candle down into the egg from the big end and not from the bottom or side. Its the yolk itself that looks like a U. The air cells are still circular.
They would be fertile, just non-viable because of damage at the cellular level.Does shipping affect viability? For example, if they are fertile can they be non-fertile when they get here? Could some of my 'clears' have been fertile??
