She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

That would make entirely too much sense :lau   I guess maybe I've come down with old-timers disease :old

Nah, I'm just weird and eclectic... good at seeing things from off the wall angles, but horrible at simple addition... like 12+16+3 does not equal a handful of cute ducklings... :/

That's him.  Didn't know SC even had his own thread.

It's called Chickens in ya window... he made it during the divorce...

Lolz. You will be over run. Do you sell them?

I will once I pick out my keepers, lol... have a neighbor already wanting them... he breeds Calls, but doesn't have the quality I managed to get... he wants my breeders, but I said no... was an interesting convo where he kept repeating, but I thought you had Calls for sale now... :gig

I am debating between building a run or using a chain link dog fence and reinforcing it.
What ever you use, you'll want to put a skirt around the bottom, and a cover over the top. If you build it yourself, you'll be able to afford making it bigger!!!

What breed would y'all suggest for the best chance of getting a broody hen you could depend on, if something like that even exists? In the 10 years or so that I've kept RIR's and/or Red Sex-links, I've not had but one that would set long enough to hatch a clutch. I want something that'll take care of her chicks, yet not be a bully in the general population, and big enough to handle 6-10 large eggs. Any favorites?
I've had 2 Dominiques go broody. One successfully, one not. But, she did need to be protected because she's a push over. They're a bit on the small side. She covered 8 eggs well, hatched 6. Lost one clear and one that was contaminated by the clear. I believe that Henderson's chicken breeds chart has a column dealing with tendency to go broody.

That frog cracks me up still!
Great looking coop! SC, what kind of roofing do you use?

Tin over plywood

Anybody know what became of the guy from Utah who hung out in here up until a month or so ago & used to give SC good-natured grief whenever he could? Can't remember his name, but his avatar was a picture of himself. I really liked what he had to say when he got serious.

Sidewing. Like Ravyn said, he's had a rough couple weeks
