Does the cabinet's turner motor give off as much heat as the LG/styrobator ones do?? That's one of the biggest things I noted and any eggs placed by that motor developed at an accelerated rate and then quite early. 

That is one thing I love about the octagon, the eggs aren't on a turner. The entire unit sits on a cradle that turns the whole incubator, and the motor is outside the unit

Mine would only turn the eggs once a day while they built the clutch then after a couple weeks they'd stir them around before taking off for twenty minutes, again upon return and two more times during the day. They seem to just sit there at night, they might turn them again then. So about 4 times a day, maybe a little more.

Right. I've seen quite a few people trying to figure out why the temp dropped significantly after lockdown and taking out the turner and that's the first thing I point out, second being that they are further away from the heating elements

Which is another nice thing about hand turning- less temp adjustment at lockdown.

How did your hatch rates with the broody in, compared to your incubating hatch rates?

Do you hand turn, or do you have any automatic Turner?

You didn't ask me, but my silkies hatch 80%, Brinsea is 92%
ETA: on silkies, that's 80% of all eggs laid, I don't candle their eggs, so actual percentage of fertile eggs is probably higher

Makes sense.

That's pretty darn good for first hatch and with styro still air.
