I usually do have my chicken boots on! Like a kid, I’m often too excited to see them after I get home and I just go out there not even thinking.

The other two (Gas and Stardew) were a lot later to physically mature than Peach. I figured by the time they were ready to lay, the days were already shorter so they weren’t getting enough light as Peach has also stopped.

What are the chances you’ve got yourself a cockerel?? Could you post pictures of Peach?

I know that it was Peach laying (attacker) because I would often see her in the nesting box and I’d retrieve the egg almost immediately when she left the box.

Did she spend more and more time in the nestbox? Could it be that she was broody?

It happens so fast! I just can’t believe it, I was on all fours in there the other day with them. I feel betrayed.

Nope, averaged 15-20 minutes in there a day that I would notice. Otherwise they all stick together coming and going from the coop/run. But like I said, she hasn’t laid in probably 2 weeks or so. Can they go broody without laying?

They can go broody after laying as much as 8-10 eggs, which would be their first clutch.
