She was called a Mutant by the chick-seller..

He? Did someone say He??? They were supposed to be all girls or was that just a figure of speech?? I will check her/his leg color tonight when I put them to bed :)

Possible Barnevelder???? I cannot decide what color her legs are...not yellow though. darker..I saw a picture of a Barnevelder Hen and she looks similar??

That's a boy. The chick-seller was wrong.

I'd guess EE as well.

This chick has no muffs, no beard, and doesn't have a pea comb. It's not an EE unless you're just saying EE when you mean mutt?

It looks just like my sex link chicks did. Mine are from a hatchery. They have yellowish legs with black/gray over top which looks very similar to this chick.

Also, mine are all pullets and they had huge pink combs and had little wattles from a young age. I thought they were roosters. (I didn't know they were black sex links when I bought them from the feed store bin.)

I'll see if I have a picture of them at a similar stage as the chick in this thread...

This is the only picture I could find. The poor girl was SO ugly there for awhile.

Now my black sex links are absolutely beautiful hens and they lay very large dark, dark brown eggs every day.

Rancher Hicks? I do adore her and that is not in question but wouldn't you like to know what breeds you have in your flock????I certainly would not have "kicked her out" for not being perfect.

By the Way, We went to the Spencer Fair today and they had a chicken show. I checked out all the hens and roos and lo and behold there was a Black Sexlink there that had the identical markings as mine so she is in fact, a Black Sexlink :)

Thank you for ALL of your comments :)

It's funny because now they are so beautiful! They have such thick shining feathers and beautiful eyes. I'm so glad I didn't get rid of them--my DH thought they were ugly mutt birds that I shouldn't have wasted money on.
