Sheep fencing question

There is actually fencing called "sheep fencing." It's woven wire of about 4" x 4" squares, but at the bottom it's bit closer together (4" x 1", I think), then graduates up to the 4x4 size. I think it's about 4 feet high. It may come in taller rolls; I'm not sure. We have our garden fenced with that, then with barbed wire up to 7 feet. You could also probably use no-climb fencing, but I would think anything like barbed wire or straight wire they would just walk through and they're pretty well insulated for hot wire to work.

I would really do some research on the Katahdins, because from what I've seen, they seem more agile than your typical woolie. Good luck!

You tell my vet that. Coccidia is carried in the feces of almost all birds. My lamb got coccidiosis from grazing on grass that my chickens were also pooping on. All animals can get coccidiosis, dogs, cats, pigs, cows, sheep, horses, goats. I have the vet bill to prove it.

Certainly most (all?) birds and mammals can get coccidiosis.

However, there are a whole big buncha different species (different genera, in fact) of coccidia. At least seven different species for just chickens!

And different coccidia species ARE apparently quite species specific. Cattle get cattle-infecting species of coccidia; chickens get chicken-infecting species; cats get cat-infecting species; etcetera. That is not to say that 'crossover' NEVER happens -- for at least some combinations it occasionally does, e.g. humans rarely CAN get poultry coccidiosis -- but it is certainly the exception not the rule, according to present veterinary understanding of the subject.

There are some exceptions like the common Toxoplasma that's easily transmitted from infected cats or dogs to humans, but that's the exception not the rule.

If you do not believe me, a quick perusal of dept of agriculture, vet school and academic information sources, online or in books, should convince you. A sampling of online resources acquired in the first page or so of a quick google: this

I don't think I have ever seen a wire fencing like that. Does it come it a roll? We have the a panel fencing we call them hog panels here. They are 4ft. high and the come in different lengths up to I think 16ft. long and it has the bottom squares that are close together and gradually open up to the 4 x 4 inch size. I think we are thinking of the same thing lizardz. Anyhow, the small squares are at the bottom.

I don't really know why it's closer at the bottom - maybe to keep them from sticking their noses through the fence?
It does come on a roll, not panels, but I don't know how many feet to the roll. I guess it's possible that they've stopped making it, as it's been about five years since we last bought some. We got it at a local store that has a lot of fencing stuff. I'm guessing Home Depot probably won't carry it. Check places that carry more farming related items - Tractor Supply or somewhere like that.
