Which is better to have to keep down weeds, grass, etc? Sheep or Goat and why? Please help !!! I'm confused and want to make the right decision before making a purchase. Any information would be appreciated.

I would rather have goats as I am allergic to sheep and they need to get sheared.

goats are the best because their low maintance.but you really need to have goatproof fences.so they cant get out.with sheep youd have to sheer them every year.

Sheep eat grass. Goats only nibble it, then look for taller things like shrugs, trees, etc. If you want a level, even, pretty pastuer sheep are your only serious option.

But, you can also keep both and they will form a herd. That gives you a bit of each type of eating. Goats are more difficult to keep then sheep, though.

Goats will eat grass...well maybe my lawn has more weeds in it...lol, but they do keep it trimmed pretty well. They do prefer the bushes, (especially my raspberries  ) though and will go for those before the lawn. I would much rather have goats over sheep, but maybe I am bias, since i have 4 of them now. They just seem more personable and are fun to have around.

sheep do make a pasture look (cleaner), and if your worried about having to shear them(which isnt really that hard). Just get a hair breed like Katahdin they're low maintenence and will clean up for ya.
plus
and this is biased,,,,
My sheep say goats are....BAAaaad
lol
No offense meant to any goatherderslol.

Now Katahdin sheep I wouldn't mind, they remind me of goats.
