Hello there fellow peeps ... my name is Quintin. Last spring the wife and I had the opportunity to take on the new, country life we had been talking about for years. As with everyone who starts down this road, egg laying chickens seem to come first. We have 8 and they have been housed, temporarily, in a playhouse that came with the property we bought. For various reasons, I would rather design and build a coop than retrofit the playhouse for the inevitable, oncoming cold (we live in central Minnesnowta).

So the question ... I have several sheets of moisture resistant sheetrock from a (failed) bathroom project at our previous home. I was considering using this on the inside of the coop. Can anyone tell me if there is some reason not to go this route? I have no other use for the stuff as I have no future plans for another (failed, no doubt) bathroom project.

Thanks.

Tried it years ago. The chickens ate it. Not sure if the treated core of the w/r board will hurt them or not.
