Shelby’s weekly writing prompt!

O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Your hands have made -
I see the stars;
I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed!
Then sings my soul,
My Saviour, God, to Thee:
"How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!"
Then sings my soul,
My saviour, God, to Thee:
"How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!"

Every week we observe the seventh-day Sabbath, set aside by God Himself as a memorial of Creation, a monument in time to remind humanity forever that He spoke our world into existence in six literal 24-hour days. It's the only reason the world observes a seven-day weekly cycle, but people have forgotten it. Saturday is the seventh day and always has been. Jesus rose from the grave early on the first day of the week, what the world calls Easter Sunday. But Jesus called Himself Lord of the Sabbath, because He is the Creator. Every week we observe the Sabbath day to remind ourselves how great He is. He is Creator and Savior. This song speaks to my gratitude for all He is to me, and all He has done for me. I often cannot sing it because I get choked up with tears of love and gratitude, but fortunately I can sign it.

Beautiful song lyrics.
We also believe that everyday is to give glory to God. Every moment is His.

We worship on Sunday and not because of easter but the Resurrection. I talk to Him daily, throughout each day. Without Him, I am nothing. PTL

I agree with all this but there is more to it. But I do not want to tun his thread into a religious debate. You are welcome to pm me if you want to know more. ❤️

I love this song!

Talk about old wall street with it's ups and it's down, talk about some new restaurant you found outside of town.
Front page of the paper says ceasefire could be in sight. Home team made a comeback and won a big game last night.

But in the back of my mind, something seems wrong
When our conversation never turns to home.

Isn't anybody talking bout going home anymore, isn't anybody talking bout streets of gold?
Could it be we're so happy with things down here. The Holy place we once held dear, from our sight has disappeared.

Is there anybody talking bout goin home?

Lord, don't let me grow so far for the things down here,
That I lose my sight of what I once weighed dear.

Remind me Lord, I'm here in this world and just passing through,
There's a higher calling, to which I must be true.

But in the back of my mind,
something seems so wrong,
when our conversation never turns to Home.

Isn't anybody talking bout goin home?

How many Christians understand, this earth, is not our Home? I ponder it daily.

Thank you. Though I enjoy discussion, if I send a message to you, won't it be public to byc?

I have no problem with it but do not want to break byc rules.

I Love speaking of God, not a god.
I am Catholic and just typed the words of a non Catholic Christian song. So true words of many today... and last year and a decade ago.

May the One God, give us grace to persevere. ❤️🙏

This was the first song I ever sang as a solo in church, so I have a soft spot for it.
