Shell-less egg, help?!

In this case though. I just think your bird is still young,scared, finding her way. Nothing to worry about. Just my opinion. I found this in one of my books. I hope it helps.

That's a pretty good blurb on softshells, what book is it from?
Also, please cite your source for the info on this post, you should be able to edit to add.

It can be really hard to determine why a bird lays soft or thin shells, thus hard to know what to do about it. When only one bird out of a flock is laying these, it's not necessarily the overall diet..tho some bird have different 'needs' or just can't metabolize all they need to turn the calcium into shells. Have had several hens lay consistently 'bad' shells, the ones that break in the nest are PITA and make great stew here.
