Shell less egg soft shell egg question

I have 4 egg layer (2 red sex-links, baren rock Mix, and a RIR)

My one red sex-link just started to lay on last Wednesday 8/26/09
She is only one doing a egg "squat" she laid one on Wed & Thurs,
They flow out over of their coop and was locked out Friday so I didn't find an egg on Friday, but I got one today Saturday, along with this very gross thing, that was not there this morning...

Do you think it was from her being locked out and it would have been the one she laid yesterday? and the good one was today?
or do you think someone else started to lay?

could a chicken lay 2 eggs with in a couple of hours apart or is it more likely someone else start to lay?

Hard to say if it was a different hen or not, but it's not unusual for first eggs to be 'wrong'... and it's possible that it's the same hen, but I'd say it has NOTHING to do with her being locked out or not. I had one lay a membrane only egg a couple weeks ago, after my 1 1/2 year old hens got moved to a new coop. All is well now though. Try not to stress over the yucky eggs, things'll even out.

i have 4 sexlink that started laying about 3 weeks ago and have 3 of those yucky things and one huge regular egg. but so far the rest have been good. i think they need to get regulated for a couple of months i was told

one of those yucky one and a good one?
both with in 4 hours?

only one today so far she normal lays at 10:30 ish

This one was a very nice size too
