Shell less egg?

Today one of my hens layed an egg that had no outer shell. It is squishy and the inner lining is in tact. Does anyone know why and are they missing something in their diet? Thanks.

Calcium, stress, vitamin D defiency, or a young layer that is just starting.. There has been quite a few threads on this. trying searching in the top bar..

I think genetics is the only possibility DTchickens left out. Not bad for an off top of the head list. I cheated by going to this site.
