It's a sad day when my mom mentions a shelter...

I've been trying to sell my rouen/mallard drake for around 2 months now with no luck at finding him a home. My mom has gotten impatient with me and is now giving me one more week or he's going to a shelter. I really don't want to send him to a shelter...he's being cared for great here and I would just feel horrible if I had to send him away to an uncertain life.

But in case I am unsuccessful in the next week, I was wondering if there were any good farm animal/duck shelters in or near south-east Michigan I could look up and give calls.

Thanks!

And if anyone wants him please contact me! The weather in Michigan is too warm this week for shipping, but I can hold on to him and wait for cooler weather as long as I know he's getting a good home!

I'm not sure about any shelters - too bad you're on the other side of Lake Michigan, or I'd take him!

I never have the heart to get rid of my excess drakes, but I've found that they can all live happily together (slowly eating their way through my tuition money) as long as they're out of sight of my girls.

I hope you find someplace for him!

Wow...too bad you're so far down, or we would take him. We just can't get down there for a pick up anytime soon. Not aware of any "shelters" but we have a wildlife rescue here in Cheboygan that may take him. She keeps ducks of her own in addition to rehab-ing wildlife. I think the website is northernairewildliferescue.org. But if not, you can just google Northernaire Wildlife Rescue. Hope this helps.
