She's a hen, but what kind?

Tail isn't right for a cornish hen either. Would it be possible to get a casual picture of her, just where she is standing like she normally would? I think she is more along the lines with red pyle game....just an opinion.

Her body doesn't look anything like my cornish...and her legs are too thin and in the pics, look to have a slight greenish cast. Not school bus yellow tree trunks like mine do! She could be a cornish/EE mix?

Game's aren't that bulky though Dustin (unless they are oriental, and they don't sell those in hatcheries).. And red pyles are white with very little orange in the neck/breast unless it is a cock, then they have orange in the hackles, shoulder (wing bars), wing bays, and down to the saddle.

ETA: She could be a EE crossed with a white laced red cornish.

I'm with the White Laced Cornish folks. I know she doesn't fit the standard but commercial hatcheries don't really follow the standard of perfection and often outcross with other breeds to increase production ability like egg laying and extended periods of egg laying. I've had hatchery cornish of the dark variety and the hens did not really bulk up like they should have.

She's a pretty hen and just because she's may or may not be a cornish or even part cornish, doesn't mean anything bad. They still lay eggs and make wonderful broodies when they aren't so heavy that they crush the eggs they try to set.

Remember- she's only 4 months old- she'll probably fill out as she gets more mature. Whatever she is- just because she doesn't fit an exact "type" right now- doen't mean she won't in a few months.

I don't know what she is, but she's REALLY pretty!
