She's Nesting!!! How Long now??

My BSL has been squatting since Monday, and this morning, I found her in the nest, throwing hay on her back! How long do you guys think until I can see an egg in there??

I know its not the answer you want but "any day now" fits this perfectly. We can not put a number on how long it will be as every chicken is different but if she is getting in the nest and feeling it out then it wont be long.

How far apart are her contractions. Have you check for dilation. Remember plenty of hot water and clean towels. You just have to be ready.

Once they throw hay/wood chips on their back is a sure sign there is an egg coming very soon! Their very first egg may take a while. My girls took 2-4 hours to lay their first egg. Don't forget to take a pic and show us your first egg!

OK...so, no egg yet.......I will keep everyone updated though. She doesn't seem interested in the box now though, so I don't know!

My hen lay faster when i am next to her nesting box....haha idk y but sure and i can watch her laying also. She squatted on wednesday and laid on friday and she is laying everyday.
