some of you might remember that my dog attacked one of our heritage turkeys and ripped all her feathers out on her back under her wings and left a few huge gashes, it's getting all leathery and healed up now, but Spartacus, or one of the other birds, but i think her because i've seen her peck it open, one day i saw her with blood on her beak, and messing with it, she won't let the owie heal. it gets good and on it's way and then she starts pecking at it till she's bloody.
We blue koat it, but, that's just putting a nice lil "bandaid" on the wound, not healing it an keeping her from tearing it open again, what can we do? is there some way to prevent her from reaching the wound? I'm thinking maybe a toddlers t shirt , or vet wrap, though my dad won't wrap her.
She';s about the size of an average house cat, from what i understand heritage turkies stay kinda small.
