I just set a bunch of eggs under a broody tonight! This is my first time hatching my own eggs and I'm using a broody. They will be mutt chickens but should lay shades of green. I'm super egg-cited!!! This is a first time broody and she was pretty stoked to have all those eggs.

Congrats!!!

Leave her be and keep other chickens away from her nest and if the eggs are fertile, you'll be "in chick heaven" in about 21 days.

This is my second broody hatch. Someone put my eggs in their incubator and 14 of 15 started developing so I think that is a pretty good fertility rare. Something went wrong with that hatch so we shall see how nature does

chose the number you want her to sit on.mark the eggs under the broody. take away any new eggs it is best if she is not trying to hatch out a large amount.
