****GASP***** I know, horrible right?

I need to finish making zucchini bread and I'm out of eggs. They aren't laying them fast enough.

LOL I know what you mean. I made a breakfast casserole tonight for in the morning and the recipe calls for six eggs. Only one of my girls is laying consistently and I only had four of her eggs, so i used the store bought ones. I won't tell if you won't tell.

I am so terrible, when we go out to breakfast it is soooo hard for me to eat restaurant eggs...I feel like I am betraying my girls or something!!

We used to buy storebought white eggs at Easter time for coloring, that really killed me, until we tried coloring brown eggs....I think they come out much nicer actually...

Hey, sometimes you got to do what you got to do....its ok....

Last weekend my kids were checking the nest box every half hour...I needed an egg to make cookies! Finally got one in time to have the cookies done after dinner.

Wanna know something really odd?

I put store-bought eggs in the hen's egg nests. We have snakes that eat the eggs, and I'm trying to fill them up on the bad ones instead of my precious fresh eggs.

Well, the snakes won't have any of it. They will bypass the store-bought for the fresh. If there are no fresh, they will leave empty-mouthed, hoping for luck later on. They will eventually eat them, but they sure aren't knocking on my door for them.

Isn't that telling?
What does that snake pick up on?
And wouldn't they think a store-bought be better because it cracks open easier? Guess not.
