Shipped Chicks Support Thread

Mine always take 3 days to arrive. That's why the electrolyte or sugar in the water is helpful. Half the time our box sits at a post office 50 miles north of us, and they call and ask if we wish to come fetch them or let them come the next day. We always go fetch them. Hopefully yours are all okay.

She did pass away. We love you, Pip.

Sorry you lost one. I stopped ordering d'uccle through the mail as they had trouble surviving the shipping. Probably because they are so small. Glad the rest are okay.
That's what we're thinking. I couldn't believe how tiny. The other d'uccle is a freaking tank and bulldozes all the others around. By the way, if you've done calico cochin bantam chicks before, have you found they have different colorings? One is a light buff/blonde, and the other two are medium brown. I can't think what else they could be from Meyer, but it's odd.

There can be some variation in the buff highlights in calico chicks. Did you buy sexed or straight run? They do sound adorable.

I got sexed females from Meyer, who only carry calico and mottled, and they're certainly not mottled! I'll attach a photo of the two "calicos" (d'uccle in the middle). The blonde looks like every stock photo I've ever seen, but I'm having trouble finding anything that looks like the two browns.
