I got 20 shipped eggs and let them sit on counter for 24 hrs then put in incubator in egg carton but had to put 2 on auto turner - no room. I tilled the carton 1x a day and just candled day 5 an A couple look like vaining is starting but, air sack is on the wrong end. The rest don't look like they have air sacks at all. Should I just toss and try again? My last shipped eggs 12 out of 16 are developing and look good on day 14.

I'm no expert, but those that don't have a sac might develop one. (I've had these from my own chickens, and they were just a day old until they developed one.) I think they are probably very fresh IMHO. The rest that have it on the wrong side could be dead ones (I'd guess), but I'd also leave them in for another 5-7 days to see what happens. I'd never throw away eggs that could just be a day or two behind if that's your question.

I'd set the questionable eggs with the fat end up so that if one does form, it's in the right place. I've had success with some crazy airsacs, so I'd keep them going for at least 7-10 days, and then toss anything without veining.

Thanks I hope I get something from some of them.

Good Luck - I'm in the same boat with some of my eggs. Someone sent me OEGB (old english game bantam) and the egg is so small and both ends appear to be the same to me so I can't tell which end is pointy? I can't see an air sac but they are starting to vein out so I am just laying them flat and manually turning 3 times a day. I am hoping they start to show an air sac soon so I can tell which end is which.

I also have some that have an air bubble in them that rolls around. I think they are gonners but just in case I am watching them. If nothing in 7 days I will toss.
