shipped eggs...do they need to rest?

just received some eggs in the post (not bad...only spent 12 hours in the postal system, lady sent them last night, they arrived here 7am this morning! not a single dint or squish on the box...they really have been handled with care!)
anyhow im sure i read somewhere i cant put them in the 'bator straight away...they need to rest? (something to do with the air cell?)
so.......;
1) how long do they need to rest for?
2) do i lie them on their sides to rest or pointy end down?
3) anything else i need to do with shipped eggs before setting them?

Let them rest pointy side down for 12 to 24 hours. Gives you plenty of time to make sure your incubator temp is spot on.

I let my shipped eggs rest 24 hours, pointy side down in a egg carton. I tilt the carton to one side by putting a book under it every few hours. I have 14 shipped eggs in the bator right now, did this and all showed development at 10 days candling. Good luck!
