Shipped eggs most arrived broken

So I just got my order of eggs in, and 7 were broken upon delivery. The 5 that survived transport are covered in yolk and white. Is there any chance that they’re viable for incubation?

Oh man... I’m not sure about viability, but is that how they were shipped, in the carton? Eggs need to be individually wrapped if they are to survive shipping. With lots of padding and a double box. It’s a good idea to ask the seller how they package their shipped eggs before you commit to buying.

Yeah I have never had eggs shipped like this. I was not happy.

Those were not packaged properly and I’m shocked any arrived intact. I would be concerned with trying to incubated them since they can’t be properly washed.

I hate to tell you that I doubt they would make it(they way they were improperly packaged and jostled in shipment). I don't want to give you any false hope...

Hatching eggs can be expensive, especially when you factor in the shipping. Can you at least get your money back?

I hope so. I’m still waiting. I was thinking about asking for chicks instead but I’m nervous how they’d be packed. I’m so bummed. These were supposed to be my breed at home meat birds

I wash my eggs with a 50-50 solution of peroxide and water. It's a total myth that you can't wash eggs. I wash the eggs right before I put them into the incubator. I don't want dirty eggs in my incubator and I have near 100% hatches with fertile eggs. I'd take pictures of them and send the picture to the seller and then wash them, and put the unbroken ones in the incubator.
