Wh have a chicken who has 2 big lumps 1 under the vent and one too the lower left a bit more downward. She's been pretty absent from the flok for a while now but 2 days ago she started that wierd penguin walk and we thought it was egg binding. Fast forward to now we have given many warm water baths, massages, scrambled egg with crushed eggshell, and dried worms. She stil poops, drinks and eats. She has also been staying with us inside the house since then. Is this actually egg binding or something else. We have no vet because it's hard for that where we're from. She's 2.5 years old.

Welcome To BYC

If she's pooping, eating/drinking and moving about, likely she is not egg bound. She probably has laid Internally or she may have EYP, Salpingitis, cancer or some other mass/tumors.

The 1 that is lower to the left a bit more downward you are feeling may perhaps be her gizzard that you feel, it can be hard to know.

If she has laid internally or has a reproductive disorder, there's not a lot you can do as far as helping her expel these materials that are in the abdomen/below the vent.

She may also have an egg, membrane or lash material that is in the reproductive tract that should could expel which may help with her stance and comfort. I'd try giving her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 once daily for a week. She what happens, if she's able to lay an egg or if she passes something else.

Soakings often do not help much with anything except stressing a hen out. I usually omit soakings unless its necessary to clean up heavy soiling.

Work on hydration, get the Calcium into her and encourage her to eat her normal feed.

If you lose her and want to find out more about what was causing her symptoms, having a necropsy through your state lab will give you the most answers. If not possible, then doing your own informal investigation by looking inside at the organs and reproductive system will sometimes shed some light on the matter. If you do your own, you can post photos and we'll try to help you with what you see.
