I set my 12 shipped silkie eggs today! Hooray! I did allow them to sit 24 hours vertically in a cooler room in our house. I am now onto incubation. I read that I shouldn’t turn the eggs for up to 6 days, but I also read that turning at least days 2-7 is critical to increase the hatch rate and help to develop even blood vessels. I don’t know what the heck is the right answer?!? I did candle before setting and thought I saw about 6 or 7 detached air cells. I am new to all of this, so I’m not exactly sure. But I did read that I should have them set vertically and not to turn for a couple days at least. Should I reset them vertically to allow the air cell to reattach? Any suggestions on doing that and when I should begin to turn them? I am trying to remain hands off and plan on candlng them around day 14 and then stopping the turning around day 14. I will then candle again before lock down. What do you think? Do you think they’ll be okay leaving them the way they are or should I prop them up?
