Just orderd 15 assorted large fowl chicken eggs from Strombergs in Minnesota. I figured the closer to Wisconsin the better for transport/shipping. They arrive 4/24 or 4/25 and ship 4/22. I have taken 3 pages of notes on displaced air cells, letting set for 24hours before incubating, cracks, leaking eggs, humidity, and temperature. I have a still air, manual turning 'bator. I have hatched 11 of 12 prior eggs (the 12th pipped on the bottom, and I didn't catch it----it was fully formed, but didn't hatch.) My prior hatch was from a local farm and eggs were hand delivered. I am nervous. I am hoping to get even 5 of the 15. Any further advice is appreciated. This hatch is for fun for my birthday present to myself. My husband doesn't get the chicken thing, but is willing to turn eggs on my 12 hour shift days. Am enjoying this site very much. Wish I had found it sooner. Lynn Marie (scooter16)

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan :D

Look in the Learning Center for an article called Hatching 101, it includes a shipped egg hatching guide. Good luck.
