Shipping adolescent bird.

Im going to be shipping a two month and one week old old bird soon and I need a bit of clarification before I do. (Also im sorry if this is in the wrong place) But I found out I need to get an official certificate of veterinary inspection to ship him. But once I get that what do I do with it? Also I heard I have to call a day or two ahead of when I ship them. But I dont know what to say. If some one who has shipped birds before can help me I would be very grateful.

Does anyone have any input? I am going to be the receiver of the bird. We found a vet that is able to give us the certificate of inspection (required by the Michigan Department of Agriculture to be able to ship him into the state). But we are really clueless as to what we are supposed to do with the certificate. And as the breaker said, what we are supposed to inform the post office of? Do we only need to call the post office here in Michigan, or the post office on both ends?

If anyone has any idea, we would really appreciate some help.

Thank you

Either end will know what the regulations/procedures are for shipping live birds. I've never done it but assume a copy of vet cert has to accompany the package like a bill of lading.
