Shipping from us America to Ireland!

I phoned DEFRA and asked about importing eggs from the US to the UK. They sent me a whole lot of links basically telling me it wouldn't be worth it (my own deductions). Eggs are considered the same as live birds, and, with handling, stand an almost zero percent chance of giving you a live bird.
Importing adults would be the way to go, however, the cost would be huge. I'm not sure what would be cheaper: trying to create the bird you want from scratch, or importing... I decided to create.

If there were enough of us, perhaps we could get together to cut costs? But that's just wishful thinking.

LOL! Kinda just what I was thinking. There are threads on here about importing and exporting birds/eggs.
Have a look around for them and for the folk who have actually done it to get a better idea of what is and isn't possible.

Hi, shipping eggs WITHIN the EU is not a problem at all.
I send over (twice now) geese eggs to Hungary (actually not at the EU) they arrived perfectly, first time with DHL within 24 hours, second time with DPD took the 5 days, hence the costs. DHL almost 150 euro, DPD approx. 30 euro.
The states are so far a different story.
Because of Avian flu possibilities it is not permitted to send out eggs and birds.
I try to get quail from the states, but one guy pretends he can promise me that even live birds will arrive within a couple of days, which made me suspucious, so I asked , not sure of the correct name, Triple quail farm eggs, he said;,, good grief, Ireland, look up the international rules on internet"
I looked it up and the shipper needs to vaccinate health check and quarantaine the birds for approx. 4 months before sending over, and even then, you need to accompany them in person (on the same flight)
I hope I have answered your question a bit in this.
