If any of you are looking for a possible alternative to the normal USPS or air cargo shipping, I have a suggestion. I just purchased seven adult Dewlap Toulouse geese, one Chinese, along with a pair of Silkie adults and 7 silkie babies in Ohio, with me living in Long Island.

If you add up the box costs, weight (each goose about 30 pounds average), etc. I was looking at at least $700 for USPS and more for air cargo.

I used the eBay-style shipping website and I actually got a bid from a really nice guy who is a shipping specialist for the Navy. He transported the entire crew, along with an incubator, in a carpeted van for a total cost of $300, leaving Ohio at 10AM this morning and getting here just before 10PM tonight. Everyone arrived happily, with the geese travelling in a "playpen".

It was a great experience. If anyone wants to know further information, please feel free to contact me via PM.

That is a pretty good idea. Thanks for the info!
