VERNORS!!! Jeepers, I forgot VERNORS! Two summers in high school, I worked at a Christian camp on the Upper Peninsula (Intervarsity's Cedar Campus). They had Vernors!

I had such a love for the northern woods on fresh water that when we moved to the Cape, during walks on the Seashore property, I would inhale the warm pine needle scent deeply and say, oh man, this smells just like Cedar Campus. Pete kept saying (annoyed), no dear, it smells just like Cape COD! Oh well.

it was invented right here in Michigan. (Vernors, that is.) the man who made it left the ingredients in a barrel and then was called off to war, if i am telling the story correctly...when he got back...yummy ginger beer, which is known as ginger ale now.
