Thank you for the kind words! In the meantime Toby recovered. ☺ I think it must have been molting. His plumage is now stunning.
But he turned a bit of bad boy - and started picking on Lilly who started molting just after him. Yesterday Ruby, the dominating hen, joined him and attacked Lilly - she now has on open wound on her neck 🥺I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow to administer antibiotics.
I did not expect molting to make them misbehave that much but apparently it does... 😥
 
The vet said today that she'll be fine; the wound apparently looks good (though I could see the inside of her throat through it 😳) and is not infected, etc. I put her back to the coop, but in a cage so she is not attacked but still part of the flock.
