Could have been a magpie but it sounds like the work of a opossum or similar critter y'all might have. What about a devil, do you have them in the area? Also, in the breeding season, I put my trios in pens so they don't cross breed and have let them hatch poults from time to time but incubate most. I did have a guinea hide out for a month last yeas and I thought she was dead until she showed up one morning with 17 keets!
