"Shopkeeper ‘didn’t want to shoot’ robbers"

It sounds like the robbers meant business and he did the only thing he could. I think he's a hero - he had employees he needed to protect!

I say he's a hero!

And those creeps got what they asked for..

You go into a place with a weapon with the intent to rob and harm someone...you better have the bigger/better weapon... And they didnt.. Idiots!

I completely agree...they walked into that store armed and with the intent on hurting people. They got what they deserved. That poor man did what he had to do. I feel bad for him and his family and the employees...can you imagine the fear when those kids were waving their guns around and threatening them? He's had that gun for "decades" according to the story...it's not like he was trigger-happy.

That is so sad, I know he will never be the same after something like that. My prayers are going out to everyone who has been traumatized by this incident. It is too much like the movies, life is starting to imitate art.

It is a shame young people had to learn a lesson so harshly. The shopkeeper had no choice with them armed.

Maybe it's just me, but if you're robbing people at gunpoint and pistol whipping them, you can expect to get shot. Treat others how you want to be treated and all.

If more of the general populace was armed and ready to defend themselves against violent crime such as this, then there would be much less. Gun control hasn't worked here in America, but of the countries that have strict laws, Canada seems to shine.

I must admit I smiled and felt a bit smug and happy that the perps got exactly what they were looking for and deserved. I hope the man can see it was something that he needed to do and doesn't suffer from too much stress.
