Hi, as the summer storms roll in around here, it leaves me with a question, should the 7 week old chickens go in for a storm? Its windy wet and muddy, last time we left them out because of a tornado warning, and wanted them to have a chance. We put them in the coop this time it was just rainy and wet, almost time for bed, but what are your experiences with storms?

Ok, they don't free range yet, and usually head under the coop, Wich is in the run. Thanks for the insight, I will let them out next time!

Ours either go under the coop (2’ off the ground with run under) or head inside. If it’s super windy I’ll close the coop wings so they don’t get ripped off.

Base action on the storm. Wet and rainy, put them in.

I had a tree come down and squash a turkey house.... yet all birds were fine.

Had another tree crash down a couple weeks ago.... only one roofing plank broken.

I put my birds away and pray. We rarely have tornado warnings ....
