Should cochin bantam have a strawberry comb?

I bought a black bantam cochin from Tractor Supply back in March. This week he crowed (lol he is so serious as he strains to get out that crow) so I know I have a roo. My question is whether it is "normal" for him to have a strawberry comb. He is a gorgeous little black with the blue highlights but I thought the cochin should have single comb. He does have feathered feet so is not a regular bantam. I am wondering if he is a hybrid rather than a pure bred though.

Also, is there any easy way to sex silkies? I bought one at the same time as this cochin and they are good friends. I have two younger partridge silkies too. I am not sure of the sex on any of the silkies.

cochins should have a straight comb not a strawberry one and there is no accurate way to sex a silkie before the first egg or crow

Sigh ... that is what I feared about the bantam. My husband was thinking about us buying a couple of cochin bantam hens for him but if he is not a standard I would not want to breed him.

He is cute and friendly though. Funny too ... we have had a lot of thunderstorms the last three days and he starts trying to crow after a loud crack of thunder. Think he is trying to scare it away lol.

We bought him because he tried to protect the silkie after another silkie had bloodied "her". We called them Ebony and Ivory but now I have to call him Evan.

I seem to like the feathered feet so have 4 Salmon faverolle girls and 1 roo for them, 3 brahmas (1 I know is a hen the others are younger so still waiting on them to decide ;) what they are, the 3 silkies, 2 full size patridge cochins and a blue splash marans,

Pretty sure the cochins and marans are pullets.
