Sponsored Post Should eggs be cleaned before setting in an incubator?

If I placed them in a bowl of water to see if they float or sink, does that 💯 disqualify the possibility of their ever hatching? ( I was planning on eating them but now considering incubation sorry first time)
Good chance they won't hatch if you soak them in water.

I've tested it. I soaked them 60 seconds in an Odoban solution (kills Marek's). They hatched and are now 5 months old.

Since then, I've soaked all purchased eggs 60 seconds in Odoban, as do a few others. No issues.

If they are clean, they go in the incubator as is. This is the ideal situation. If there is dirt on the egg I rinse with a small amount of water and use a dry scrub daddy to scrape it off. A dirty egg (immediate threat of bacteria) is far worse than a washed egg (potential threat). The incubator is humid so getting them wet won't hurt. Especially a waterproof duck egg.
