Should Eggs be Laid Down or Point Down Hatching

Ok I am on day 18 with most of the eggs and about to lockdown. I am wondering do they need to be pointed down or laid flat during this time? What is your experience with it? We are soooo excited! Thank you

i lay mine flat on wire mesh. the egg will sorta tilt, but thats because of the shape.

I do point down until lockdown, then lay flat. Have a wonderful hatch and let us know how it turns out!!

Either way is fine. I hatch in the egg carton so mine are pointed down, but any that don't fit in the cartons I lay on their sides. I also put rubber shelf liner (the kind with small holes) over the wire when I go into lockdown. It helps make clean-up easier and gives the chicks something easy to stand on. Happy hatching!

Under a broody hen eggs are always laying flat and seems to hatch,,eh??
