Should Hank Williams Jr. Remain the Voice of Monday Night Football?

As I remember my history the German people elected Hitler and accepted his policies willingly. (off topic)

Hank makes enough money and probably doesn't care much for what others think about him, I think there is more to the story I will have to see why he was on FOX in the first place.

I actually agree with Hank.

Now I wouldn't say that Obama is Fully Hitler, just some bits and pieces.

Hilter wanted to force his religious views on everyone. I don't see Obama or any Democrat doing that. I do see the Tea Party and most Republicans doing that.

Either way, I don't think it's appropriate to call anyone Hitler.

WHAT????? Obama moves to END National Prayer day and you dont see him trying to force his religious views on anyone? He stands behind the ACLU who wants to remove crosses from military graves and you dont see it?? He even said the USA is NO LONGER a Christian nation and you dont see it? Im sure there are more examples but, those are just the ones I can think of right now. Sorry to go off topic, but that statement struck me as sad.

As for the original question- I think the ESPN network has the right to do anything it pleases as far as who they employ to be their spokesperson. And if they feel backlash from a statement made by their spokesperson, or dont like or agree with anything he says, then they are perfectly within reason to let him go.

I dont think they should let him go over his comment though. Many celebs have said and done worse and still continued on being spokespeople.

Im just sorry Hank feels the need to apologise. Too bad he cant just stick to his guns. I wonder if its HANKS publicists that are behind his apology.

Indeed so!

Part of it is I am not Christian. Was raised a variant of it, realised how very sick and wrong it was, and refuse to be Christian today because I'm smarter than that. Plus I'm pretty openly violating one of the 10 commandments, so pretty hard for me to follow anything.

Yes, I know, Hitler was democratically elected, W. Bush wasn't (he didn't win popular vote either election, he won electoral college, which isn't a true vote of the people)

But I don't see Obama saying we must kill those who aren't exactly like him. So I don't get the comparision to Hitler.

Besides, the lovely little paper that makes the US a nation - the Constitution has a small section in it that references the seperation of church and state. I'm a big believer in that. We all have freedom OF religion. Which includes freedom FROM religion if a person so wishes. My children say the Pledge without reference to God because that's what DH and I taught them.

I'm pretty happy to live in a non-Christian nation. If you want to live in a country ruled by religion, you are welcome to move to Iran.

When someone makes a pledge or allegance to anything that becomes a religion...I am sorry but I just do not see the disconnect.
