Should Harold stay or go? you tell me.

some chickens like em... others don't... I kept him in the house ... yes in the house all winter... He was kinda unthrifty... but he has grown out of it... He like yogurt too... I almost lost him twice this winter... He would go off food.... Never did figure it out... He would alway eat bananas.... Sometimes it was all I could get him to eat... that and egg soaked bread.... He is finally up to a decent weight for his size. We got real bonded... He used to sit next to me at the computer... I would find rooster calls on you tube and he would get really excited when I played them... He liked yogurt too. I used rooster booster to up his appetite... The banana thing just stuck with him... He has to have it... So I go to the store every two days (because my kids keep eating the billy bananas) and get more.

wouldn't you have a problem with chicken poop with keeping a chicken in the house? I'm new to chickens but it seems that they just tend to poop wherever they happen to be. Does that change when they get older?

Oh believe me... It was quite an undertaking... It was a definite management thing... Yes they poop... and yes you had to clean it up.... daily... It was a chore... but he is after all.... my baby.. he he.. It was worth it.. (he was in his own room) in a pen with a special floor that allowed for easy clean up. He has room to roam with a large dog kennel... 4ft high and about 4 by 8 floor space to roam.. He had a roost. Just like keeping a really large parrot. I used to keep parrots so this was an easy concept for me.
