Should I ask for some sort of compensation?

I always pay with AMEX. They are very good about making sure I get refunds, regardless of "store policy" or attitude. Some other credit cards are helpful this way.

A sensible manager would refund the whole price of the chick (maybe $20). A cheapskate would give a store credit for the price difference between a pullet and a cockerel (about $3). Only an imbecile would refuse to give any satisfaction.

Small claims court might be the best solution. By refusing to refund three bucks they are leaving you with the loss of several hundred dollars worth of eggs.

I like how you think! I'll come help you deliver the 650 roosters back to the feed store. We'll make a sign for each saying "We are proof that the professional sexers are wrong 98% of the time." They should have had a clue when they had NO roosters in the rooster bin to send to you with your order.

We are going to use them for freezer camp. I am a very big stickler on the principal of things. This is not abut the money. It's about admitting they did not sex my chickens or sent me the wrong chickens. I ordered hens, I was told I had hens and now they are "oh gee, they are almost all roosters?" I no longer pet and play with the roos. They are going to freezer camp, but boy did I love up on them when I thought they were hens
